This is a remarkable story of Phyllis who opted to start a small fruit parlor business. She is a single mother of four children who has struggled to be the provider of her home for
several years even after putting in all the hard work.
Phyllis desired to start a business to supplement her income earned from doing casual jobs but she did not have capital to start. She was recommended to us by an individual and became part of the program. As a result of depression, in the beginning she was a little bit reserved and avoided interactions with our staff but after joining a support group of fellow women who have faced the same obstacles in life, she was able to open up and belong. After being taken through the business classes, she noticed a lack of accessible, high-
quality fruit-based products in her area and saw an opportunity to fill this gap in the
market.
Driven by her passion, Phyllis decided to establish a "fruit parlor" and create a haven where people could savor the natural goodness of fruits. Today she continues to nurture her business which has supplemented her home income to give her children a
better life. The business was able to restore her hope again in life. Through determination, passion, and the support of Heavenly Goshen, Phyllis has a thriving business that has led to great transformation of her family.
